Good day racers! I have a couple of dates I would like you to write down (or stick them in your phone, or whatever you do to remind yourself to show up someplace).
Year-end meeting: at the end of racing on Saturday, Feb 22 we will hold the annual year-end meeting at the Lion's Hall, 166 Bobcaygeon Road, Minden, Ontario. The hall is being used during the day - we have it at 5 pm for our meeting. This is your opportunity to tell us your thoughts and ideas about how 2025 went, and what we might change for 2026. It has been three years now without an Ice Racing Director - it would be VERY nice if we could elect one at this meeting...
2025 Awards Banquet - we are tentatively planning on March 29 or April 5 for the year-end banquet. As soon as we settle on a venue and a date, I will send out a message, but for now, please save these dates so that you can attend once we nail things down.
There is a shortage of Clerks and Stewards for Ice Racing. I have been discussing this with the clubs for the last year, and now I am bringing my pleas to the entire ice racing community. It is critically important that we have the next generation of Clerks and Stewards registered for training as soon as possible. If anything were to happen to the 3 or 4 people we currently rely on so heavily, we wouldn't be able to run a race weekend. If you are interested in training for either position, please send me an e-mail at president@casc.on.ca. The need is greater than you realize!
And since I have everyone's attention. there are still 3 more weekends in the 2025 Ice Racing Series. To register, just click on the race(s) you want to enter - remember, we don't charge you for your entry until the "GO - NO GO" e-mail is sent the Thursday before the weekend.
