CASC-OR would like to welcome John Trimble as our new Ice Race Director. Here's a little introduction...
John has a long history in Road Racing, primarily as crew, but has some experience as an official. John hopes his wisdom in his older years has taught him something...that he's too old to crawl around the pits anymore (lol). He worked as a scrutineer in CTCC and did data accusation for CTCC (TCR – WSC). Pre-season tech for Ice Racing – he lives in Minden and is happy to help out! He's done timing and scoring for motorcycle racing, set up and ran timing and scoring at Shannonville Drags as well. John's a long time member of BEMC and currently a CASC licensed scrutineer and time keeper.
As far as crew, he's worked with Anthony Polito and Jim Middleton on the 66 Mustangs if VARAC from 2009 to 2014 and their ’97 Prelude from 1997 to 2000. Plus various series – Enduro etc. Worked with John Sherk - ’92 Integra and ’94 Prelude in the Firehawk Series and its successors and won the 1992 Touring Class Championship and John was 3rd overall in the Crew Chief of the year award. Worked with Roger Elliot in 1990 on his 3 car team in the Canadian Firehawk Series.
John has been a member of the Minden Kin Club for a year and worked occasionally with the crew prepping the track for the winter, so he has some first hand knowledge of maintenance and building. Last but certainly not least, he's worked with Ian Law at his Car Control School especially in the winter. John and his wife have been residents of Minden since 2017 and he's also a member of the Legion.
John can be contacted at iceracedir@casc.on.ca.
