As I write this, we have 41 entries for Saturday and 39 for Sunday. If you haven't entered yet, please do so NOW. We don't charge anyone's credit card until after the "GO - NO GO" announcement so what are you waiting for?
We are doing a couple of things differently this year. We have posted 4 different potentials on track schedules based on running 8, 7, or 6 run groups. We will decide which groups are running based on the entries on Thursday when the "GO - NO GO" decision is announced. You need to enter early to help us make this decision. For example, on the 8-run group schedule, we have the Lexus Sport Cup cars running by themselves. If we don't have at least 7 running, they won't get their group. Similarly, we have SS4 running in their group, but again, if we don't have 7 cars entered in this class, it likely won't happen... If you want your run group you have to have enough cars entered to justify it! Call your friends, your family, or anyone with a car and get them ice racing! REGISTER NOW!
By now, I hope everyone is aware that we are starting the cars on track at 11 a.m. on Sunday this year, with a drivers' meeting at 10:30 a.m. sharp.
Anne McCallum tells me we have 5 TEMP License holders signed up for the DAC weekend. That means we need 5 experienced drivers to ride shotgun with them. If you are willing to help please send an e-mail to raceregistar@casc.on.ca. Thanks!
This Saturday, we had the Pre-season Tech Day at the fairgrounds. Over 30 cars were teched! (but strangely only 10 helmets?) Thanks to Ashley Last, our Regional Chief Ice Racing Scrutineer for setting this up. Thanks also to Steve Manol, David Galos, and Doug Forbes for staffing the event with Ashley. Ashley told me he would be on-site at the fairgrounds this Friday afternoon from 1 until 4 pm if people wanted to bring their cars to be teched.
