Re: the icar wall crash video
Man, that sucks. Such a beautiful looking race car and seriously quick too. Glad the driver is ok.
Who built that car anyway? The roll cage and interior/dash treatment looks very high quality.

Re: the icar wall crash video
Quote:
In 2004, At Speed engaged in the development of the Volvo S60 R under the sponsorship of Volvo Cars North America. The challenge was to design and construct S60 R's to compete in the Speed World Challenge GT class. This monumental effort resulted in the completion of two prototypes, one of which ran the last three events of the 2004 season in the skillful hands of legendary driver Derek Bell, the five-time Lemans 24-hour winner. The second ran the last two events driven by up-and-coming star Jameson Riley, the youngest driver in the World Challenge GT series. In 2005, At Speed developed the second-generation S60 R for World Challenge GT, designated the 2005 model. The first of these ran in the first three events of the season, alongside one of the older 2004 prototypes. The second made it's debut at round four, at Mid-Ohio. The two cars are piloted by the two returning drivers, Bell and Riley. At Speed also worked on a new design based on the 2004 model, which debut late in 2005. i found this on there website . we have 2 of the cars 1 that we ran saturday the other is just a shell |

Re: the icar wall crash video
As they say in the classics, "Bugger!"
Glad the driver is okay! Also loved the way he had the foresight to get his hands off the wheel just in case it bucked badly when he realized he was about to experience the unstoppable force meets the immovable object phenomenon. Either that or he realized that turning the wheel was doing nothing and just wanted to grab the belts to have something to hang onto. Terrific video by the way and as noted, a seriously quick car. Look forward to seeing it back soon. Neil |
